Open Surgery

Open surgery is still often the best approach in many situations and occasionally laparoscopic procedures may need to be converted to open procedures if it is not possible to complete the procedure as a key-hole approach. This can result in a longer recovery and you do need to take this in to account when planning in the post-operative period
